How the site is funded

SimraceBeast generates revenue through three channels:

• Display advertising. Banner and sidebar ads are served through third-party ad networks. Advertisers pay for placement, not for coverage. No advertiser has any say in what we write about or how products are scored.
• Affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link on SimraceBeast and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate income does not affect product scores, rankings, or the order in which products appear. Products are not added to or removed from lists based on affiliate commission rates.
• Sponsored content. Occasionally a manufacturer pays for a dedicated article. Sponsored content is always clearly labeled as such — both at the top of the article and in the URL where applicable. Sponsored articles represent honest editorial opinions but are not independent reviews. They do not appear in our independent rankings or "Best Of" lists.

Editorial independence

No advertiser, affiliate partner, or sponsor can influence a score, a ranking, or a recommendation on this site. This is not a goal — it is a rule. The scoring methodology is fixed, formula-based, and published in full on our Methodology page. Every score can be reproduced from its component criteria. There is no "overall feel" override that an advertiser could lobby for.

I've given negative assessments to products from paying advertisers. I will continue to do so. If a review is critical of a product whose manufacturer also advertises on this site, that review stands without modification.

Sponsored editorial content

Sponsored articles are content where a brand pays for a dedicated post. The topic may be suggested by the brand, but the editorial content — including any opinions expressed — remains mine. Sponsored content is identified with all of the following:

• A "Sponsored Content" notice at the very top of the article, before the title
• The name of the sponsoring brand in the notice
• A link to this disclosure page for further explanation

Sponsored content does not influence any independent reviews, rankings, or buying guides on SimraceBeast. Sponsored articles are excluded from our "Best Of" lists and comparison pages.

Review units

Occasionally a manufacturer provides a product sample at no cost for review purposes. This is always disclosed at the top of the review with a note such as:

"[Manufacturer] provided a [product] sample for this review. This did not influence the score or content."

Receiving a free sample does not guarantee coverage, does not guarantee a positive review, and does not allow the manufacturer to see or approve the review before publication.
